Critically endangered Grauer’s gorillas are found only in the
Democratic Republic of Congo and their population has plummeted by
an estimated 80 percent in the last two decades. They have received
minimal protection and face many ongoing dangers, as well as
The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund has set up a program to help save
these gorillas, based on its successful model working with the
mountain gorilla population in Rwanda, at the Karisoke Research
Center. This includes daily protection and monitoring, scientific
research, community engagement and support, and local education
The Fossey Fund now operates a permanent research and conservation
field station in the core of Grauer’s gorilla range, working
closely with traditional landowners and other local partners. Its
Congolese teams hike and camp deep in the forest every day,
tracking Grauer’s gorilla groups, locating new groups, and
collecting important information about them that will be critical

Gorilla Blend is fantastic, I’m a huge fan of African beans and this is just marvelous, I’m brewing pour over at exactly 200F and it’s amazing.

Didn't realize I had selected the dark roast when I ordered somehow, but it suits this coffee good. Immediate chocolate punch on first opening. Giving the medium roast a go on the next one. (And it's Fairtrade from SOPACDI - a co-op doing some amazing work in the Congo.)
